It all started with a problem – too many children are facing mental health crisis. Decades of science reminds us that we can help parents get ahead and change outcomes. They simply lack affordable access to reliable expert support. Megan has spent decades building ventures like Belay, that tackle big problems.

"Over the last 29 years of parenting, I know too well the strain you feel when something isn't quite right. And I've seen first-hand how expert advice changes a child's trajectory. With Belay, we're on a mission to give parents the reliable, affordable expert guidance that changes lives."

Co-Founder + Chief Psychologist

Dr. Carol Matheson, PhD

25+ years|3 children

Carol co-founded Belay because she sees firsthand what happens when parents have the right tools for their specific child — and what's lost when they don't. She has spent her career working with children and families in hospital settings, schools, and private practice. Her specialties include attention issues, learning, behavioral issues, depression, and anxiety. She earned a doctorate in School Psychology from Penn State and has three kids of her own, which she'll tell you is the real credential.

"I've spent 25 years watching what happens when families have the right tools for their specific child. The difference is remarkable. That's exactly what Belay is built to do."

Dr. Linda Pak Bruner

Counseling Psychology

Dr. Linda Pak Bruner, PhD

25+ years|3 children

Linda has spent her career helping families connect, communicate, and understand each other. Her practice focuses on stress and anxiety management, trauma, cultural identity, and assertiveness or communication issues. She's a licensed psychologist, frequent lecturer on mindful living and holds her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University.

The parents I've worked with don't lack love; they just need help tweaking their skills and increasing their awareness. What I love about Belay is that it gives parents the personalized, relevant information they need to be the parents they want to be.

Dr. Janet Patton

Counseling Psychology

Dr. Janet Patton, PhD

18+ years|1 child

Janet's core beliefs are that every child is capable, all families face struggles and support and community are the essential fabric for resiliency. She joined Belay to help provide all these elements directly to families when they need it. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation, psychoeducation evaluations and scientifically supported therapy. She holds a Masters in Education and doctorate in Counseling Psychology from The University of Georgia and completed a two-year fellowship in pediatric and child psychology at Yale University.

Not every family has the same access to support — and that gap has real consequences. Belay puts credible, practical guidance directly in parents' hands, when they need it. That matters to me deeply.

Alisha Williamson

School Psychology

Alisha Williamson, Ed.S.

15+ years|1 child

Alisha joined Belay because she believes in normalizing everyday parenting challenges and equipping parents early and often. She has worked as a program specialist, school psychologist, special education teacher, and behavior interventionist for more than 15 years. She specialized in providing comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations as well as professional learning opportunities on how to support students with disabilities. She holds her Ed.S. in School Psychology from Auburn University.

Most parents just need someone to meet them where they are and give them tools that actually fit their child. I use Belay's strategies in my work every day and at home with my own kid. That tells you everything.

Imagine starting each day empowered.

You could do this without Belay. But why would you want to?
